João Paulo Sirimarco Batista, ou JBatista, is undeniably a brilliant Brazilian artist with social and political themes. His characters are "cariocas" (people from North-eastern Rio de Janeiro) as well as around the world. With a prolific output, he moves between the field of art and design, developing products.
JBatista was honoured as the artist to sign the illustration and graphic designs for Child & Adolescent Statute (ECA 2012) by the Secretary of Human Rights of Brazil. In Turin, Italy, he had a piece of his work selected for a permament exhibition and display in a restaurant, by the design studio Quattroline. Along with Marcelo Yuka and Orland Zaccone, he is one of partners of B.O.C.A. (Organized Brigade Activist Culture). The highest point of his production is the series of archetypal identification of the Brazilian people such as Norhteast, Rio and Music, conveying joy by the colours and firmess in the traces.
